Summer Fun

We are now in our 3rd week of summer and boy have we had a blast soaking up the fun so far. I mean that's what summer break is all about right?!?!?!

We met some friends at the Botanic Gardens last week and spent the entire day there playing with friends. The weather was PERFECT!!!!
I LOVE the picture above.

When I say we met some friends, I should add there were 10 kids and 4 adults we went with. I loved catching up with my friends and watching all the kids play so well together. It was just so perfect!

We got to the gardens at 11:00 and did not leave until 3:00. To say my kids were tired was an understatement. The picture above proves my point, but oh how I LOVE the picture. Scooter and his arm around Baby A just tops it off.

I guess the theme of our summer is going to be "injured". It seems we end our fun activities with someone getting hurt. This time it was Scooter and since I watched the dr the week before with Baby A I knew what to look for to see if it needed stitches. It didn't appear to be bad enough for stitches so we left on that note.

Later that same week we decided to take a trip to the Pink Palace.
My boys LOVE any kind on museum and even though we have been to the Pink Palace a million times it never gets old to them. We made it a point to each learn one new thing that trip though.

Baby A was really into the museum this year. In years past she was too young to really understand what was going on, This year she soaked it all in. Especially this old car with a mechanic laying under it fixing it. I don't think I ever convinced her that the man was not real.

So what did we learn this trip. Well Scooter and I read as much as we could about Yellow Fever and how they got medical attention for it during the outbreak in the 1800's. Rascal was very intrigued at how doctors would use leeches to try and suck the disease out of the body.
We all thought the war exhibits were interesting and also trying to guess what some old farm equipment was.

They have added this T Rex since we last visited and boy was it a favorite among them all.

Baby A wasn't so much a fan of how loud it roared though.
She kept her eye on it until it was out of sight.

They boys pointed out all the reptiles and amphibians they see around our house in the this particular exhibit.

It was a fun day and we all agree that spending time together is making it the best summer!
