Here goes nothing....

Well February 1st was the day I decided to just bite the bullet and take away the pacifier. Baby A had mentioned the day before that her paci was yucky and I told her I would wash it. Well they were dirty INSIDE the silicone part so I got a bright idea. I truly think this idea was wisdom from God. He does things like that you know?!?!

I cut the end off the paci and cleaned them out really really good. Then I gave the paci back to her. She took it and laid down but when she stuck in her mouth to suck on it the silicone part collapsed due to the hole. She wasn't so sure about that and laughed! She thought it was silly until I told her I couldn't put it back on. She whined and then we made a deal..... she could either sleep with this "broken paci" or she could go to bed w/ out it and get a skittle when she woke up.  She pulled that paci out of her mouth, handed it to me and said "I want a skittle".
I closed the door, answered a few "excuses" (I gotta potty, I gotta boo boo, I gotta sharp nail etc...) and then it was quiet. I waited for a while, worked on the computer upstairs and let her get good and asleep then I went downstairs to check on her. When I got downstairs I found this:

She came out of her room quietly and was watching TV in the living room. Who knows how long she had been sitting there.

It's been one week now and she is completely paci free and she did it cold turkey :) We had a few meltdowns but they were short and then she got over it. Now she says "I'm a big girl, I don't need paci! Mommy proud of me" :)
And yes I am SO VERY proud of her!
