A Little Rearranging

A few weeks ago I got in a little mood to rearrange things in our house. I use the word "little" very loosely since this rearranging included moving SEVERAL pieces of furniture up and down stairs.

You see we have what they call a double master house. This means there is a master downstairs and a master upstairs. We have always said that the upstairs was the playroom but really... it was just a junk room/storage/sewing room/ playroom. It rarely ever got used and that meant we only lived in a little bit of our home.

This bothered me so I got to planning and that is never good ;-) I decided that we could move both boys upstairs and they could have the entire upstairs to themselves. Then we could take their old room downstairs and turn it into Baby A's playroom.

Since the upstairs master is big enough to hold all their furniture and still have room for plenty of play space, the boys really had no need for a playroom.

So we took out all the furniture that we were storing up there, took apart the boys bunk beds, moved them upstairs, moved Baby A's play house downstairs again, moved up the boys' two dressers and now I can breath easier since we are living in our entire house!
My "before" pictures are on my laptop which is dead so this one from when we first moved in will have to do:

The boys only opinion was that their beds be close together. With the way the ceilings are upstairs we only had a few options and we decided on this:

This picture above is as you walk into the room and look to your left. The boys were SO THRILLED that they now have a couch in their room :)

This is looking back towards the entrance to their room (the door to the right is the entrance). The door behind that is their full bath.
The room is shaped odd so it's hard to get it all in the pictures. To the right of the picture above is their window, bookcase and reading nook, and the computer is still in there for now but we plan to move it downstairs soon.

So with their old room empty now it was time to move all of Baby A's toys into it so she could play with them more. It has been WONDERFUL having it all downstairs.

The first thing she wanted to do.... play tea party in her house with daddy!
He is the WORLD'S BEST DAD!!!

  1. I bet the boys are loving their room! I would! What kid didn't want the room upstairs and with their own bathroom! ha! I know I did! Awesome that baby A has her own room and a room for all her big toys! I bet your house feels even bigger now!
