A few Saturdays back we woke up with nothing planned for the day. This rarely happens so we decided that we would make the most of it and spend some time with just the 5 of us (plus Lucy).
It wasn't the nicest day... cloudy and a tiny bit of a chill in the air but that wasn't going to stop us.
We decided to pack up lunch and head to a state park close by for just some good outdoor family fun.
The kids loved throwing rocks into the lake and exploring the woods.
It was so peaceful just being outside. Made me REALLY ready for spring so we can do more things outside. Boy do I already have a list of "want to do"!
We ate a picnic by the playground and then let the kids just play. It was kind of muddy and wet but we brought towels to wipe down the slides (this isn't my first time at things like this..HA), and the kids wore clothes that could get dirty. Lucy (who was so wild with joy that I couldn't get her picture) was so dirty she had to have a bath. I joked with Tim that she was a Labrador trapped in a Maltese body because of the way she ran around rolling in the leaves and mud. She is by no means a "fru fru" dog!
I caught Tim trying to get a sweet picture of Baby A. His result.........
Sweet indeed!!
We had the best time and the kids all fell asleep on the way home (an added bonus!)
We are already planning on visiting a few other state parks this spring. They make the best "day" trips for this family!
