Processed Food Rut......

I am having a very hard time finding things for my children to eat. I prefer to make most things myself and cut out as much sugary, pre-packaged, processed foods as possible but lately I am having a very hard time with this. Rascal will not eat anything that I make that has bananas in it yet he will eat some of just a plain simple banana.  I have searched blogs for ideas but A LOT of the ideas I find have nuts or peanut butter in them and/or they use almond milk or almond flour. He can't have any of that due to his allergy. He is burned out on pancakes and scrambled eggs and he says smoothies make him cold (can't blame him on that). Lately I have resorted to making chocolate chocolate chip muffins (which he LOVED) and sugary cereal just so he will eat. This will not help with our problem with all the energy he has lately.

Then I have Baby A who will not eat fruit......Not any of it. I have tried fresh and canned and she just won't eat it. She is burned out on raisins, goldfish and cheeses itz and I have resorted to giving her dried cereal and cheetos for snack.  I can't seem to find a great snack recipe for her that is nutrutious. This pains me to give them all these snack foods that are filled with preservatives and things I can't pronouce (and have no clue what they are).

Scooter will eat pretty much anything, thank goodness.

We are in a major rut and we are all getting burned out very very fast. It is mostly breakfast and lunches that we are having a hard time with. Dinners typically go very well. Maybe I should just feed them leftovers for breakfast? JOKING! I felt better than I had in a very long time while cutting out as much processed food as possible not to mention both Tim and I both lost weight too. I have no idea how we will get back on track with our better eating but for now it's not going so great.

I'll gladly accept any ideas you want to leave me in the comments. :)

  1. Have you tried making smoothies or juicing? Kids don't know what's in it and some don't ask as long as it doesn't smell or taste weird. I need a good juicer. That's something I've been wanting to try on my kids for a long time!
