Our Week

Thank Goodness It's FRIDAY!!! We have had quite the week here this week. Just take a look:

Monday: Dropped Baby A and Rascal off before 7:30 and then headed to the orthopedic doc to get Scooter's wrist checked out and his cast put on. That night Rascal complained of a headache and Baby A started coughing a lot.

Tuesday: Baby A woke up and was irritable all morning. Rascal was running fever and complaining of a sore throat and headache. Scooter was mad that he was the only one going to school that day. After taking Scooter to school, I took the other two kids to the new doctor. Baby A had a cold and ear infection and Rascal had strep throat. We were given an antibiotic for each kid and I figured in 24 hours we would all be on the mend (boy was I wrong!!). I should have known when the pharmacist questioned the antibiotic but I am no doctor so I just went with it.

Wednesday: Rascal was still running fever and Baby A was still a bit irritable but over all feeling much better. By 3:00 Rascal had been on a prescription for 24 hours and was getting worse. I took his temp at 3:00 and it was 102.6. I gave him Advil and took his temp again one hour after giving it to him. His temp was at 103.6 then and he was lethargic, complaining of severe stomach pains and headaches. I called the doctor back and was told they would call me back....... I have yet to hear back from them and it is Friday. Two hours after giving him Advil he started to feel better so I decided to give it one more night.

Thursday: Baby A is back to herself and tearing my house apart.  Rascal was staying home again and I had to be at Tim's work for some sort of health screening for our insurance. Rascal was feeling better and his temp not quite as high so I assumed it was getting better. By 3:00 that afternoon it was back up and I was calling my normal pediatrician. After hearing a lecture from the doctor via the nurse... .they called me in another prescription. I was told that what he was originally prescribed was wrong and not helping him at all.  Rascal got one whole dose of the new RX in him that night and slept pretty good.

Friday (today): Rascal woke up fever free!! YAY or so I thought.... by 9:00 he was running fever again (101.6) so I had to cancel his birthday party this weekend. You know your child doesn't feel good when you tell them their party will have to be rescheduled and they don't get upset about it. This boy is SICK! I managed to talk to all the party friends we invited and as of right now they are all planning on coming to the rescheduled party in 2 weeks. SIGH* what a relief.

So we are going to take it easy this weekend and get some cleaning done. Tim and I leave on Tuesday to head down south for some R&R. He has a few days of business meetings (and I will chill at the hotel or spa) and then we head to stay in a condo on the beach. My in-laws are going to come bunk at our house with the kids so my house MUST get cleaned otherwise I will be embarrassed of the filth!! At least I have an excuse :)!!  Never has a relaxing trip to the beach looked so heavenly!
