Vacation Bible School 2014

Back at the beginning of June we had Vacation Bible School at our church. 

The theme was weird animals and kinda had a jungle/ rain forest type feel to it. 

I was in charge of teaching to bible stories to all the kids each day. 

I wanted my room to be a fun room from the moment they walked in the door. 

Here is what my room looked like most of the time. 

I did switch it up a lot depending on what bible story we were learning about that day. 

Tim and I stayed one Sunday after church and helped decorate the church. 

This is what the stage kinda looked like. We still had some things to do but you can get a good idea. 

There were fun animals all over the place. 

The week was SO much fun and I had an absolute blast teaching the kids all week. On the last day we had a church member bring all their weird animals for the kids to see. This couple rescues reptiles and other animals and has a house FULL or snakes, turtles, lizards and so much more.

They brought 12 of their animals to show the kids and it was by far the favorite day for all the kids.

A Macaw (who had been neglected by previous owners and he plucked a lot of his feathers out.)

This was my assistant all week, helping me teach the lessons. She was such a trooper and went all out to dress for each part. This day she played the role of Saul. 

The couple who brought all the animals knew that my kids LOVED reptiles and such so when they found a box turtle just a few days before coming to VBS, they knew just who to give it to. I wasn't so sure about having another pet. It is Scooter's pet and he has to take responsibility for it and care for it. If that slacks, we will let him go outside. So far he's done so great and has LOVED having a pet turtle. 

We named him Leo and he stays in a giant tupperware up in the boys room.
