School is back in session around here and I officially have a second grader and a fifth grader
Scooter has most definitely matured so much. He has been opinionated about his clothes for a few years now but now he is most definitely opinionated about his hair. He likes to look "cool".
Rascal has grown so much. He is catching up with scooter quickly and if Scooter doesn't hit a growth spurt soon his younger brother just may be taller than him.
Of course Baby A had to be in the pictures too along with her baby.
This picture just melts me.
My two handsome boys and sweet Baby A's look of admiration on her face.
We started preschool with Baby A and she has LOVED doing her "home school" every day.
She is quite a handful.
Day 1:
I helped her with the first line but she traced the others.
I am not pushing her, if she doesn't quite get a certain thing we move on to something else and come back to the other thing another time. One of those task we had to skip for now was recognizing her letters. She wanted to call every letter "E" last week. Today she was able to tell me that the first letter in her name was an "A".
Day 2:
We are working on her writing her name. Right now she just traces it but she is getting better and better at tracing it so I know that she will be able to write her name with no help by the end of the year.
She does turn her "e" into "o" but that is very normal for a 3 year old.
Day 3:
We have worked on gluing things and that has quickly become her favorite thing to do.
Today we worked on cutting. She is still so young so I don't expect her to be able to cut things out just yet but she is getting the hang of the correct way to hold them and cutting straight lines.
It's been fun sitting down and watching her grasp different things. I am NO teacher by any means but I think these workbooks we have will be a great way to teacher her the basics and get her ready for Kindergarten in 2 (TWO!!!!) years.

Aww, they are growing up SO stinking fast! I absolutely adore the picture of A looking up at Rascal!! It's priceless!!! Great job with her school. Every little thing will totally help her. Believe it or not, alot of parents don't think to give their kids a head start at home. I know one who sent her kid to MDO from the time she was old enough to go and she was constantly in a 'school environment'. I felt bad that Xander couldn't do that but then come to find out, she was so far behind Xander and most of her class because her Mom didn't even think to do any 'school' with her. She had no idea. She thought she was learning it all that time. :(
