When Tim went on his first interview with his new job, I made a challenge that if he got this job that we should do something fun to celebrate. Well he raised the bar a little and said if he got this job, we should go on a sushi date and I would have to try sushi. Tim LOVES sushi and I have never gained the courage to even try it. So we made the bet. I really assumed he would forget about the bet and that I'd never really have to try sushi. Sure enough he got the job and he remembered our bet. So I stuck to my word and we set up our sushi date night.

We some friends at a local sushi restaurant. Amanda LOVES sushi just like Tim and her brother Zach had tried it before but wasn't a huge fan. He told me that whatever I tried he would try too. So since Zach and I were " sushi rookies" Amanda and Tim ordered the sushi.
We had a California roll (all cooked), spicy tuna (raw), spicy salmon (raw) and spicy crunchy (not pictured and it was all cooked).
Tim knows me better than anybody so I asked him which I should try first. Of course that was the raw Spicy Tuna . I was all smiles but let me tell you it was a MAJOR mind thing to get over. I kept getting it to my mouth and then I would chicken out. The table next to us even started chanting trying to encourage me to just try it.
Ok here goes nothing....
trying to swallow it...
Quite interesting to say the least....
I must say that it wasn't horrible. In fact the raw fish was very very yummy. It was the seaweed that I didn't like, it tasted too much like the sea. So I went on and tried the rest of the sushi we ordered. The Spicy Tuna was my favorite (but don't take that as I LOVED it), The Spicy Salmon was my next favorite, the spicy crunchy was next and lastly was the California roll. The California roll was horrible. It grew in my mouth and I really didn't think I would get it swallowed.
After about 5 or 6 pieces of sushi I started to gag when trying to swallow it so we stopped before I ended up losing my entire dinner.
I can honestly say I would never crave sushi nor would I want to eat it again. I would be open to trying Sashimi or Nigiri which is raw fish over a bed of rice. I honestly think it was the seaweed that turned me off.
It was fun trying something new and we enjoyed dinner with our good friends.
After dinner we headed to a nearby Asian place that sold Bubble Tea. Tim and I had never tried Bubble tea but Zach and Amanda said it was fantastic. So we took their suggestion and got a strawberry kiwi bubble tea without the traditional tapioca balls in them. Oh my gracious, these were so amazing. Kinda like a slushy but nearly as icy as a slushy.
Over all even though I wasn't a fan of the sushi, the date night was so much fun and honestly I would have done anything to see Tim at a new job.

Haha...your 'just get it down' face cracks me up!! You are too funny! Love that you guys did a bet and SOO thankful that you had to 'eat your words'. I am no where near wanting to try sushi but that bubble tea I'm pretty interested in.
