Rascal's 7th Birthday

Sweet Rascal turned 7 on the 22nd of March and we tried so hard to make it special but the yucky virus he had proved to be stronger than us. As a mother nothing hurts more than to see your kids hurt or feel bad so seeing my baby so sick on his birthday was torture. He even told me that it wasn't his favorite birthday at all.... ahhhh knife to the heart!

We tried so hard to celebrate still but he was right it wasn't a favorite birthday this time.

Here are a few of the decorations I put up kind of last minute and it was definitely a "work with what you have" type of party:

This was my favorite decorations I hung up. This was hanging up in the kitchen and these are pictures of Rascal from the day he was born all the way up to recently. I stared at it for countless hours :)

This one was hung up in the dining room.
We celebrated with a taco lunch (which he didn't eat) and cupcakes.

This was the only picture I got because I was so focused on making sure he was ok.

Sunday we planned on eating with my family but since he woke up feeling so bad we canceled that. Once he had some food on his tummy and a smidgen more rest he was feeling a little better.
He was much more into opening presents this day:

Saturday night (the day after his actual birthday) as he was resting on the couch Tim helped him pull his first loose tooth. Yes I know he has other missing teeth but those were knocked out years ago.  This was his first tooth to lose the right way :) Too bad he felt so bad and he was only semi happy about it. Also because of sickness, birthdays, vacations and Easter he didn't even get a single dollar for it... we were too occupied by other things and it slipped our minds. I MUST remedy that right away, the mommy guilt is getting to me!

Here is to a MUCH BETTER 8t birthday for sweet Rascal!!
