Random

OK How about a random post for you......

The other night I was cleaning up the house while the kids watched a movie in the living room. While walking through the house numerous times, I kept finding lights on in rooms that I thought I had already turned the light out in.  At first I assumed it was just my boys since they NEVER turn a light out when they leave the room. Then I walk in to the entry way and see this:
Sneaky little girl was going around with her stool and turning EVERY SINGLE light on in the house! Not sure why... she can be such a mess!

The other night while I was cooking dinner Baby A kept asking to paint. Well I couldn't really paint then so I told her "tomorrow after we drop the boys off at school we will paint". This girl doesn't forget a thing so the next day as soon as we got home from taking the boys to school she looks t me and says "YAY, we paint now" and so that we did!

After getting over a head cold I had a day were I had the motivation to organize. The first place I went to was the game closet. This is the closet under our stairs and it holds puzzles, games, ds and ds games, playdoh, movies and some how my craft stuff and blankets got shoved in there too.
Here is the before:

 Scary huh????
Here it is almost completely cleaned out:

And here is is after I brought in some nightstands (these were my grandmother's and Tim and I refinished them right before we got married. Hardest work I have ever done but I love them SO MUCH!), I took out my craft bins and the blankets and organized all the games. One of the nightstands hold ds games and accessories and the other holds Baby A's coloring books and crayons. Being that I might be a bit OCD, I alphabetized all our movies too. Laugh all you want... it helps me sleep better at night :)

Despite all efforts to keep us all well this winter, we have been sick. In fact all 5 of us have been sick with one thing or another. Thankfully the flu hasn't hit our house and we have all had our flu shots. That coupled with me hounding my kids to WASH THEIR HANDS and practically bathing them in hand sanitizer we should be good (praying that is the case).
A few weeks ago Baby A woke up one day with a BAD sinus infection. WE never saw it coming. There weren't any signs of her being sick and then BAM one day it hit and it hit hard.
I took her to the doctor and she was put on an antibiotic.

After the doctor appointment we met daddy for lunch at ChickFila. That always makes us feel better :)

By that night poor Baby A looked like this:
Basically she had so much junk in her head (IE: snot) it was starting to come out her eyes!! I know SO GROSS! Thanks goodness I had taken her in to the dr that day and she was a little better by the next morning.

Then I should have seen it coming but I guess I was too optimistic.  One Saturday night (just a few days after Baby A went to the dr) Rascal woke up complaining of his ear hurting. I had to be at church to teach the next day but told him we would go to clinic after church. He, like Baby A, had no previous signs of him being sick
While at church the next day his ear drum ruptures!! (Enter horrible mom moment here) I felt so bad for him. Needless to say he felt a little better after it ruptured and we went to try and get him seen at a Walgreens clinic. Once we got there there was a 2 (TWO) hour wait sitting a lot of not so healthy people. We opted to treat the symptoms and see his dr the next day. No sense picking up something else while waiting to get an antibiotic.

He took it easy the rest of the day:

We got a new game for the XBOX kinect. It's Disney Dance Party and it is FUN! We laugh so hard watching each other try and do the dance moves. It's no secret this family can not dance but it sure is fun to play this game. Baby A even gets in on the fun too. She can't do the moves they tell you to do but she loves to do her own thing!

It's a good work out for this VERY out of shape mom!!

Speaking of out of shape..... We are jumping back in to the no processed foods again. Tim really is motivating me to do this because we both felt so much better when we eat REAL food that wasn't loaded with artificial ingredients and preservatives.  We slacked off of it because time just wasn't there for me to make all things from scratch. I can't say I have the time but I am going to try and put forth the effort to make real food. Maybe this coupled with some more Disney Dance Party and I might fit back into my "thin" clothes again. One can hope right?!?!

  1. Aww! Poor baby! She looked pitiful! Daddy always makes things better at our house too :) Your closet looks so neat! I am jealous!I am SO cleaning out my closet again this year! Aliyah went through that phase of turning on all the lights too. But she'd close doors behind her so during the day, I had no idea the lights were on until I actually went into the room. :/ But how cute is she stretching up there with her ponytails!
