The boys had the entire week off of school the week of Thanksgiving. We took advantage of the nice weather and headed to the zoo.
We were all getting ready to walk out the door and Baby A comes around the corner like this:
She looked at me and said "I'm ready to go to the zoo" HA! I don't think I wanted to try taking a 2 year old and a doll stroller to the zoo. Thankfully she was ok leaving it at home.
There are a few areas of the zoo that my boys LOVE to see. One is the animals of the night exhibit.
It always smells so horrible in that building but the animals are pretty neat. They recently got a Kiwi and we never get to see it (he hides in a box all the time).
This time he was sleeping in a ball right by the glass.
See the ball of fur??
The kids knocked on the glass and he woke up?
We thought he was a weird looking animal but so neat to see him.
I think he really looks like a kiwi fruit. HA!
There was NO ONE at the zoo that day so Baby A got to walk around with her brothers.
Of course she's Rascal's shadow :)
They had reindeer for Christmas and they came right up to the fence.
We made our way over to my favorite part of the zoo.
Teton Trek
The grizzly bears were swimming up close to the glass.
We sat and watched them try so hard to catch a trout swimming below.
They always ended up empty handed though.
Love them SO MUCH!!!
We made it around to the farm and of course my kids are drawn to the horses and donkeys. They found some hay on the ground and all 3 kids fed the donkey. Baby A was so proud of herself for feeding it.
I wish I had a video of one incident....... Rascal was in a rather goofy mood and as we were walking through the farm area, he started mocking a chicken that was walking right there by us. Not seconds after he mocked the chicken it turned around and started chasing him. I laughed so hard and Rascal looked a little shocked and ran back to me. It was by far the funniest thing I have seen in a long time!

He was chased by a chicken?! That is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteRemember the chicken that used to follow us around trying to get the kids' dropped snacks?
Oh sweet girl!! She's so cute! How funny, getting chased by the chicken he mocked! haha! You guys are so lucky to have such a great zoo!
