Tim and I took a short weekend trip to Nashville a few weeks ago. It's been awhile since we had some one on one time together so we jumped at the chance.
We decided last minute to leave Friday night and then we would have time Saturday morning to do some Christmas shopping up there.
Once we got to the hotel we stayed up late watching the Grizzlies beat the Knicks!! I know very little about basketball and really only watch it because Tim LOVES it. However this was a great game and even I enjoyed watching it.
Saturday Morning we got some Christmas shopping done and then we met for lunch with my high school friend Angelia and her husband. It was so great to sit for hours and just talk about anything and everything.
Friday before we left to drive to Nashville, it dawned on us that the Opryland Hotel might have their Christmas decor up. So we checked their website out and sure enough, that was the first weekend of all the Christmas activities.
Saturday night we had the best time walking around and looking at the Christmas lights and decor in the hotel. Of course the entire time I kept saying how much my kids would love to be there seeing it all too.
The Dreamworks characters where there taking pictures. My boys would have flipped over this panda (Po I think). They love Kung Fu Panda!
And Alex the lion was there too
I loved the hot air balloons
Animals were parachuting down (not literally.... obviously) all over the hotel.
My handsome date
We wanted to eat a late dinner but failed to get reservations at any place at the hotel. So Tim searched for another option. What on earth did we do without Internet on our phones?
These stocking were HUGE.
Look at the room balconies in the background and that will give you an idea just how big they were.
Outside they had a beautiful nativity that we drove by.
It was too cold to walk up to it.
We got up early Sunday morning and ate at our must have place..... Loveless Cafe!
Their biscuits are SO GOOD and their steak and biscuits are to die for!!
We headed back home and stopped in Jackson for some more Christmas shopping. Then we made a detour to buy one more Christmas present but that one is a secret.
We'll share more about that after Christmas Day!

Love all the Christmas Lights! I bet Levi would like seeing them too!
