Scooter and Rascal's Fort

My boys love to be outside! Especially right now when the horse flies aren't out, the weather is beautiful and they have TONS and TONS of leaves to play in.

A few weeks ago while Tim and I burned leaves, the boys where off playing in the wooded part of our yard.
We stopped for a minute to go check on them and found this:

Hard to tell but that is a fort they built and it was about 4 feet tall

Here is the view from the other side:

And he is Scooter sitting inside of it:

They leaned several sticks against a tree and then added more stick across those. The they started piling leaves on top to make it.

During the week, they came home from school fed the pets, did their homework and then were back outside playing in their fort.
They decided it needed to be bigger so they worked off and on the rest of the week to make it look like this:

They put a log in there to sit on and when they come in for the night they have a few briar limbs they lay over the entrance so now animals get inside.

I was pretty impressed with their hard work and how smart they are to think of all the details in building it.

A storm came through last night and messed it all up. The boys weren't too upset, they left for school with a plan to build it back after school each day!
