Baby A Update

Baby A is about to be 28 months old. That means she will be two and a half in just a few months! The year is already flying by and I am usually not so excited about that but boy are the terrible two's harder with a girl. We are praying the three's aren't worse like they were with the boys.

Baby A weighs around 30 pounds now and I haven't the slightest clue how tall she is. She seems tall compared to other children her age.

She is in mostly 3T clothes. She pretty much just skipped right over 2T size clothes and went straight to 3T. Of course there are exceptions but for the most part she is in a 3T across the board.

She wears a size 8 or 8.5 shoe.

She is 99% potty trained. She still wears a pull up to bed at night and nap time. Sometimes she makes it through nap without wetting her pull up but it's not consistent. I think she will conquer that with age, she is still young. She seems to have to potty every 5 min so in order to keep my sanity, I began to teach her how to go all by herself. Wouldn't you know she caught on like a champ and doesn't typically need my help. She does need help pulling up her jeans or putting them back on if she kicked them totally off. She went through a bad phase of having accidents in her car seat but we seem to be out of that phase now (I probably just jinxed myself). Over all I would say she is potty trained.

Baby A is talking up a storm. Most people are shocked at how much she says and how well she talks.  She does have a few words that aren't exactly right but we love the way she says them still:
Henny (Henry)
biddle bit (little bit)
gink (drink)
thoot (foot)
stamin (standing)
score (squirrel)
seewol (cereal)
thuit nack (fruit snacks)
mook (milk)

That is about it. She says everything correctly for the most part including trampoline. Big word for a little girl.
She also has a few saying she says often:
"When I get older I can."
"Aww man" (when she gets told no)
"what in the world?"
"it's ok"

She is EXTREMELY nosy! We call her Rosy (nosy rosy)! I have a very hard time keeping my patience with this. If I laugh, gasp, slam on brakes or anything that might get her attention she is asking "what momma?"
Example.... Baby A was playing in the living room with her brothers while I was cooking the other night. I  dropped the pot holder in the oven and gasped. She heard me and yells from the living room "what momma?"..... a man pulled out in front of me on a wet busy road and about caused an accident. I slammed on my brakes to avoid the collision and I hear from the back seat "what momma?"...... If she sees my mouth chewing she wants to knows "what's in your mouth?" Not sure how to break the habit but I hope it's just a phase and this too will pass with age.

Baby A loves to have both me and Tim sing Jesus Loves Me to her when we put her to bed (this includes naps when we are both home). I go into her room tuck her into bed and then stroke her hair while I sing Jesus Loves Me. Then Tim comes in and sings Jesus Loves Me only this time Baby A sings along. I always stay close by her room so I can hear it and huge tears well up every time!  She only knows the line Jesus loves me so she sings it over and over again while Tim sings it correctly. It is so incredibly cute!

Baby A is not my best eater. She really  never has been. She isn't picky per say but she isn't a huge meat fan.  She loves cheese and any kind of carbs (she is her mother's daughter). We always give her a little bit of everything we are eating and she typically eats the rice, pasta or potatoes and leaves the rest.  It doesn't seem to be messing up her growth so we aren't too worried.

Baby A LOVES legos!! She LOVES them!! We have started keeping them in the living room. She will sit and work on building something for the longest time. It may only be 3 pieces put together but she focuses on it and it SUPER proud once she is finished.

Baby A loves to play with her baby dolls. I will walk into her room and find her laying her baby doll in her bed singing to it. So sweet! She likes for her baby dolls to have pacifiers. At the store she picks up a doll on the shelf and looks for a paci. If it doesn't have one then she puts it down and moves to the next one.

On a paci note... she still is VERY attached to hers. She only gets it at bed times and in the van (since most of the time we are in the van for more than 30 min at a time). I am not in any hurry to get rid of it just yet. We tried that in October and it was clear we should wait a little longer.

A few of Baby A's favorites right now:
jumping on the trampoline
her pets Heidi and Henry
Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood ( I HATE this tv show!!! It's SO annoying but it's the ONLY thing that keeps her attention for more than one second. She'll watch the whole entire show and not move a muscle!)
Little People and Boz DVD's come in 2nd on her favorite shows.
playing with her brothers
Legos
Baby dolls
snacks (cheese its, goldfish, raisins, marshmallows, fruit snacks and yogurt bites)
trips to the grocery store with mommy
haircuts
nails polished

Baby A is changing more and more every day and I love seeing the sweet little girl discover new things.
