Reelfoot Camping Trip (part 2)

OK so this week isn't quite as relaxed as I thought it would be but I am going to finally post the remainder of our camping trip pictures. The rest of this week is up in the air as far as blogging goes. Told you our summers are busy!
Ok so picking up where we left off...... The next morning we woke up ate breakfast and then packed everything up. Then it was off to do some fishing.

The fish were not biting at all. I tried to cast and it landed in a tree and then tried again and about caught a duck so I gave up. It's been a LONG time since I fished and clearly I need to practice some more. Rascal lost interest fast since there weren't any bites. So me and him sat around watching...... I watched Tim and Scooter fish and Rascal did this:

He was so fascinated by the minnows. I caved in and told him to try and catch one. His face says it all:

(really??)

And he did.....

Scooter is now old enough to really enjoy fishing. He has tons of patience to sit and wait and wait and wait even when they aren't biting. He loves it and Tim showed him this time how to bait his own hook and take the fish off. Tim showed him once and then Scooter had to figure it out on his own. He did it too...... I don't even do that! He's just growing up SO FAST!!

I LOVE this picture of Scooter!! My what a handsome boy he is!

Scooter and I ended up at the playground playing hide and seek with each other.

You can see by this smile that he enjoyed the playground a lot more than fishing and waiting on a bite.

Then after fishing for a few hours and not catching a thing we gave up and headed to the nature center.

Scooter is way too close for comfort to this rattlesnake in my opinion. Sure it was in a cage but the cage wasn't too promising. We didn't hang around long.

We walked around the "museum" and saw how it all looked before the huge earthquake hit and made Reelfoot lake. Pretty neat. Rascal is sitting in some sort of a boat.

After the museum we took a walk along the boardwalk.

It was such a fun trip and we had great weather. I absolutely love going on trips with just the 5 of us. I figure while the kids think it is cool to go on trips with us we better take advantage of it. We may fit a few more short trips in before school starts but we will just have to see how our schedule works out.
