Our Front Yard Friend

A few weeks ago, I was walking by our front glass door and took a double take..... this friendly guy was just sitting out on our walkway.

I called the kids to come look (Scooter missed out since he was spending the night with his grandparents). Henry was very curious about this turtle.

So was Baby A. She laid right down on the sidewalk and started talking to it. Then Rascal did the same thing.

She wanted to touch it so bad but I was afraid it would bite her so I told them no (later I gave in and let her touch it a little). In this picture she is trying so hard to obey me. :)

We watched him just sit there for a few minutes and then headed inside to get him something to eat. Henry guarded it while we were gone.

I guess he wasn't a fan of Kale because we set it down in front of him and he went into his shell. Before that he just stayed out and looked around. Even with two children staring him down he stayed out but as soon as we set the kale out he ducked into his shell. :)
We turned him towards our ditch and left him alone. In 30 minutes he was gone. Not sure where he went but he was fast that is for sure.

ON A TOTAL RANDOM NOTE:
Today is Tim and my dating anniversary. 15 years ago (yes that is exactly half our lifes) Tim asked me to be his girlfriend. He was a shy handsome guy and we had NO IDEA what dating was about. I don't think we talked much the first few months we "dated" but we knew we liked each other and that was all. Tim stuck with me through my HORRIBLE spoiled bratty "I'm a Princess" years and has showed me continous love. We always celebrated monthly dating anniversaries when we were dating and he bought me something every. single. month. (most of the times I had weekly gifts from him). Now we don't celebrate dating anniversaries but we get to celebrate wedding anniversaires which are so much better. I don't get weekly gifts anymore, I get a daily gift of being called his wife, best friend and mother to his children. That is much more than anything money could ever buy!

  1. That picture of A looks like she's just itching to get her hands on the turtle.
