Three Years Later......

Last week, we had some GORGEOUS weather so I decided to take the kids to the Nature Center. We had a BLAST but before I get into our day lets take a look back:

(July 8th 2009)

Rascal was 3 years old and Scooter was 6 years old.

(June 6th 2012)

Three years later.....they have grown and we have added one to the group :)

Scooter is wearing the blue shirt (9 years old), Rascal has the #1 on his back (6 years old) and Sweet Baby A (almost 2 years old).

We haven't been to the nature center since 2009 so the boys were excited to finally go back.

We got there when they opened (around 10:00) and decided to walk along the nature trails first (in case it got too hot later......Rascal + heat = one VERY grumpy kid!)

We saw lots and LOTS of turtles and about 1/4 mile into the trail I realized wearing flip flops wasn't the smartest idea I had. I just knew we would come across a snake. We did, however he was in the water and we were on the bridge. Scooter yelled out snake and I nearly had a heart attack. All I could think about was my exposed feet and after that we quickly finished the trail and headed indoors!

Later we took a walk on the forest boardwalk and saw a baby raccoon. It had just fallen out a tree and we watched him climb all the way back up the tree. I have picture but it is hard to see anything but leaves in them. The kids thought that was so AWESOME.

Inside they have all kinds of cages with snakes, turtles, fish, birds and even a chipmunk.

Baby A loved finding the animals in each cage.

I wish I could explain how much I love spending summer with my 3 precious kids!!

The BEST part of the day was that Tim came over on his lunch break and had a picnic lunch with us and then we had a little time to show him around the nature building.

It was such a wonderful day and we will HAVE to do it again....including the fun family picnic!
