Scooter's 9th Party

We are having Scooter's 9th birthday party with his friends this Saturday. I learned from Rascal's party that I need to fill each moment up with things for the kids to do otherwise they run wild through my house. So here is what I am planning so far for the Mario themed party:
~ Each guest will make his own pizza and while they are baking we will play a few games of Mario Bingo.
~ Then after we have eaten pizza and played bingo (and maybe pin the mustache on Mario) we will begin our own Mario game.
  • The boys will have to zip line across the fire pit (a red table cloth under the zip line)
  • explode all the bombs (pop all the black balloons)
  • Collect as many coins as they can in a room full of ghosts (white balloons with faces will be the ghosts)
  • smash boxes to get fireballs and throw fire balls (red ping pong balls) at the enemy to rescue the princess (not sure how I am going to do this exactly but it will involve through the balls at balloons or maybe bowling pins with faces on them, still working on the details of this part)
  • I may have them crawl through tunnels, jump over things etc.. as part of the game too.
  • eat a donut hanging on a string
  • make their way through a hallway of lazers (crepe paper strung from wall to wall, they can't break the paper)
  • find the 9 stars through out the game
For decorations I am going to have some question mark boxes sitting around, maybe some piranha plants (if I can draw them ok), gold stars, coins and maybe a Mario picture. Again I got no luck at the party stores so this will all be on what I can make myself. I don't have a lot of confidence in myself right now.  Of course with every party there are favors and I was able to pick up a few fun Mario themed treats for each bag. They will have.... a pencil, memo pad, stickers, fruit snacks, a cute bomb shaped filled candy and some fun furry stick on mustaches.
Scooter has asked for chocolate cupcakes with red icing and I bought some plastic coins to put on top of each cupcake.
I hope all this turns out wonderful for Scooter. As long as he loves it all that is all I care about.
Now off to do some drawing!
