pigtails!
~We are potty training Baby A and she is doing very well. She always starts to go and then stops and runs to the potty and finishes. Now I know this isn't technically the way we want it done but it is a HUGE step in her knowing when she has to go. Baby steps.....we will eventually get there but for now I am very PLEASED with how well she is doing.
~ Scooter goes to the doctor Monday to get his cast off and see how well it has healed. I am hoping that we don't have to have another cast put on and can leave with just a splint on it.
~Speaking of doctor visits....Baby A went to the doctor this past Monday and had her 18 month check-up. She got up to date on all her shots (she was behind due to the possible egg allergy that she doesn't have) and got a great check-up from the doctor. She weighs 26 pounds (75%) and is 34 inches long (95%).... so she is tall for her age but that doesn't surprise me. The boys were the same way.
~ Rascal finally got over the resistant strep that he had a few weeks ago. It was one of the worst cases of strep we have had in this household. 102 + fever for 5 days is no fun! Thankfully the 3rd antibiotic kicked in and knocked it out of his system.
~ Tomorrow is the big day for Rascal's friend party. He is so excited about it! I hope we have a good turn out and I hope the rain holds off for us. I am sure I will have tons of pictures next week sometime. Next Saturday is his family party and then the week after that is my birthday. It is birthday central around here!
~ I am finally getting ok with the fact that I am about to be 30!! THIRTY!!!! Sounds crazy that I can be that old.
~ I would love to have a little time to sew a few projects up my sleeve. Most of the stuff I have the material for and I just need to sit down and do it. Oh but then I remember how much stuff is on my plate right now and I have to let sewing take a back seat for now.
~ I have a phone full of pictures that I plan to post soon. The weather has been wonderful lately and we have soaked it up. I tried to capture the fun the kids were having and ended up with a lot of pictures. Here are a few sweet pics I got during the week and texted to Tim:
It's spring and our toes are now polished! Baby A and I have matching toe nail polish and she loves to point at them and say "pissy" (pretty).
Baby A got a TON of hand me down clothes from a friend at church and she loves to try them all on. This was her first pair of shorts to wear this season and I thought they looked so cute!
It doesn't get much sweeter than this! Rascal loves to read to Baby A. She loves it too as you can plainly see. Rascal's reading has taken off and he is doing great with it. He is also starting basic addition and subtraction and is blowing me out of the water at how awesome he is at it. He just gets it.....he doesn't need to study and study and study. You tell him once and he gets it and does it great from then on. I was never that way and Scooter isn't that way either. Math with Scooter (especially fractions) may just be the death of me. Maybe if I would have learned it better when I was a kid I would be able to explain it better to him. This is why I don't homeschool : ) Scooter's reading however is out of this world. He is reading on a 6th grade 2 month level and is the best reader in his class. You should see the size of the books he brings home to read. They are inches thick definitely not what I wanted to read when I was in third grade.
~ The other day while Rascal was in class he decided that it would be fun to paint his finger nails with a crayon! Now I know my kids see tons of hair products, nail polish and any other hair or nail related stuff but I promise I have never polished my boys nails. Thankfully his teacher is a friend who knows me and knows I would never do such a thing. I love that his teacher texts me pictures sometimes during the day.
~Baby A's talking has really taken off. Before we left to go out of town for a week I just thought she was talking a lot. We came back and MAN OH MAN, she is talking a TON! She can now say:
\tain (train)
water
puppy
pissy (pretty)
hissy (horsey)
tutle (turtle)
oom (room)
and she is making new sentences every single minute.
When I got back in town (this was the longest we have ever been away from each other) she ran so fast to me and hugged my neck so tight. She would let go and look at me, smile real big and then hug my neck tight again. Oh my heart melted into a little puddle right then and there!

Sounds like your potty training is going much better than mine!
