I am worn out and I feel like I have absolutely nothing to write about (I don't really), I traveled across town this morning to take Baby A to her allergist appointment. After filling this doctor in on the whole story with our previous allergist, I then gave her what felt like a life history in timeline form. She needed to know detailed information about Baby A's allergies and any other family allergies. Well if you know me but at all you know that we have A LOT of allergy history in both my family and Tim's. So we had to go through all that and then she told me that she wanted to see Baby A's records from the other allergist before we did anything else. So that was that. I appreciated the fact that she didn't want to put Baby A through more testing if she didn't have to but I fear I will have to make another trip across town (an approx. hour long drive) in a few short weeks. I checked.....there are no allergists near where we live, shocker huh?
Due to the unseasonably warm January we have had, Rascal has already had his allergies start up. He had a nose bleed one day and I started him on allegra the next day. Yesterday he was complaining about his ear hurting....if his eardrum ruptures one more time, I am not sure what I will do.
I think we are going to pass on our 10 year anniversary trip and take a family trip instead. I would love to go on a wonderful trip just Tim and I but we have plenty of time to do that later. I really want to take the kids somewhere close for a long weekend and just have fun together. We may even have a "staycation" and visit some national parks not terribly far (maybe a few hours away) from our house. Not really sure yet but whatever we decide to do I know it will be lots of fun.
A few funnies.....
Rascal has always said with when he really meant if . It was always one of those things that I hated to correct him on since it was just so cute. Well he is now correcting himself and I know it is a good thing but I really hate to see him lose yet another thing that reminds me of how little he is......he is growing up way too fast and is close to meeting up with Scooter on height. They can even where the same clothes in somethings!
Rascal wakes up every morning and has a horrible time with his nose being either very runny, stuffy or just sneezing tons. If he has a stuffy nose he always looks at me and says " mom, my nose it snuffy" So cute....I know he means stuffy but there is another thing I hate to correct him on.
Out of the blue the other day Scooter asked me, "how old where you when you started dating daddy?" ......15, I answered him. He thinks for a minute and then says..well, mom I hate to tell you this but.....there are a few girls that I think are REALLLLY pretty! I told him is was ok to think they were pretty and even "like" them but he had to be A LOT older before he could date them. Kinda made me wish I wouldn't have told him how young me and his daddy where when we started dating. I am not ready for that phase!
Baby A is obsessed with balloons right now. She can spot one from far away and yells "balee" (not sure why she calls them this) until we pass it. This makes for one loud and interesting grocery store trip! No questioning where we are at in the store.
I really have very good intentions of sewing some more but for whatever reason I can't get motivated to just sit down and do it. I LOVE sewing...it is therapy for me! I think if I just made myself sit down and start, I would sew for hours upon hours trying to catch up on the things I want to make.
I am so very ready for spring to get here. Baby A loves to be outside but the weather lately has just been so unpredictable from day to day. And it seems when we have a beautiful day and I take her out to play she ends up getting a sinus infection. I doubt spring would help that but at least we might be able to count on sunny days filled with warm breezes.
I must confess....... my children got whatever they wanted tonight! Scooter wanted to play his ds all night... we don't let hem play it for long periods of time but tonight I did, Baby A took every single piece of clothing that was on my couch waiting to be folded and she threw them into a huge pile on the floor, then she proceeded to roll around in them and randomly pick up socks or towels and blow her nose on them. Looks like I will be washing all the clothes again! Rascal insisted on watching a Christmas dvd and I said ok even though it is 2 months past Christmas, then he found it more fun to jump off my couch into the pile of clothes in the floor. Which by the way........this taught Baby A a new "trick" and now she is jumping off lots of things, just what I need huh? Something about just vegging out and letting the kids just do their own thing was super relaxing....we had very little quarreling and it was nice. Tomorrow they might not like it so much when I am back to my same rules they must follow (no extended video game time, no jumping off the furniture etc..). At least I was cool mom for one night. :)

I think, every once in a while, we need to have 'free' time...the kids can think it's for them but really it's for us. :) So it's a win win!
