Advent Activities (Day 9, 10,11 and 12)

Advent day 9, we went to the zoo for Zoo Lights. We had never been before so we really had no idea what to expect but WE LOVED IT! There weren't a ton of lights and the entire zoo wasn't open to walk through but something about bundling up and walking around outside together looking at lights was so much fun! It wasn't as cold as I expected it to be and the kids loved being out at night. It definitely put us in the Christmas spirit and we all agree it is a annual event from now on. Tim's brother, Jonathan, went with us. It was fun to have him there and it was great that the adults weren't outnumbered by children :) ! After-wards we went over to Tim's parents and hot chocolate and the kids all spent the night over there since we had their pj's and it was bedtime. Here are a few iPhone pics of zoo lights.

I will apologize now and say I can't remember the names we talked about these few nights. We did indeed discuss a new name each night but I simply can't remember them now. I will try to do better.

Day 10, we had our friends across the street (The Holmes') over for Hot Chocolate and desserts. I didn't get any pictures because we were too busy chatting and eating but we really enjoyed it. Despite the fact that my desserts (found here, here, and here) were a complete fail! That is why I don't bake. I can follow instructions to a T and still mess it up completely. They were barely edible but they all got thrown away that same night.

Day 11, was our Children's musical at church which Scooter, Rascal, Tim and I all had parts in. Scooter did a tremendous job on his lines and made this momma proud. I had to try to hold back tears since I was up there on stage too. I had one of the main lines and let me tell you..... the older I get the HARDER it is to memorize lines. I was not good at it at all. I had to sing a solo too. That is way out of my comfort zone. Sure I can sing but I prefer to be among the people in the audience singing than up in the spotlight. I literally felt like I was going to throw up. Tim being on stage (although he was off to the side) made it a little easier. Tim played my husband in the play so that was fun and very fitting. Rascal was in the simple nativity during one scene. He was Joseph and the little shepherd hid behind him the entire time so the staff isn't coming out Rascal's head it is from the shepherd.

Scooter is the one on the left in the the front with the darker gray and red striped sweater on.

Day 12 was make ornaments. We had a bit of an issue with homework this night so only Rascal was able to participate. It was fun but not the same without Scooter in helping.

You see Scooter with his head down on the table.....yeah that is him refusing to do his homework. It was not a very good night in our home. He learned real fast that that type of behavior is absolutely not allowed.

Here are the ornaments in the oven baking. We are going to try and paint them later this week. I had to leave one thing for Scooter to help out on.

And here is a beautiful picture of my little sweet heart!  She is growing up so fast and is now cutting 3 more teeth. I have lost count but I think that makes somewhere around 15 to 20 teeth she has now. A LOT!!
